Music Box

Her little music box plays some sweet melody
interupted by a broken tune that drowns her cries
a ballerina box, her first christmas gift
given by her daddy, and sealed with his kiss

and 16 years later she opens up the memory box
and takes out the little razorblades she hid beneath its wings
and wheres the tiara, and the diamond rings
the little song bearly makes an audible sound
but it's music to the ears of a girl lost in the crowd

and the little mirror rusted inside
bears the torment of time
but she dresses up to look nice
mascara, eyeliner, foundation on the cuts
she doesnt want her music box to see what she does

daddys little music box, that plays the softest tune
and it sits down the centre, the middle of her room
and she toys with it gently, retracing each conture
every detail to slain perfection
she lays her hands with deep affection

she puts her fairy skirt on
and dances to the song
because daddys little music box, will help her when shes wrong
it's the voice she misses dearly
and the feeling of his embrace
him wiping away her teardrops
and kissing her everyday

its her daddy she misses
and she craves so deep
so daddys little music box
is a part of him she can keep
